Gartly is a hilly farming area with a main railway line passing through it, the only other notable feature are several main roads.

GC is Capt L G Cochrane, Schoolhouse Spey Bay, asst G C was 2/Liet J Forsyth, Haddoch Cottages, Huntly.

The OB was located on Hill of Collithie. Access to the OB was through a stone wall. It has long since been destroyed.

The main Aberdeen to Inverness railway line and main roads.

Most likely Blairmore House in Huntly.

We suspect they were issued with the standard kit. Willie said the weapons were stored at the roadside under farmyard junk.
